Osimhen Is A Very Strange Player – Turkey’s Former Referee Opens Up

Former Turkish referee Ahmet Çakar has shared his thoughts on Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen, describing the Nigerian forward as an unusual but highly professional footballer, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
Speaking in an interview quoted by habersarikirmizi, Çakar praised Osimhen’s work ethic and commitment, particularly during his time with Turkish champions Galatasaray.
“Osimhen is a very strange kid. I don’t know him personally and I haven’t had the chance to get to know him,” Çakar said.
“But from watching the matches he plays, his professional dedication and professional ethics are perhaps number one at Galatasaray.”
The former referee highlighted Osimhen’s intensity on the pitch, noting that the striker demands a lot from both himself and his teammates.
“He doesn’t accept things passively, he shouts at his teammates, he doesn’t slack off, he returns to Türkiye when his job is done, and he doesn’t miss his flight,” he explained.
Çakar further commended the Nigerian international’s fighting spirit, even in games where he fails to find the back of the net.
“He’s a player with very high professional ethics. Even if he doesn’t score goals, I take my hat off to the fight he shows,” he added.
However, the former official also issued a word of caution, suggesting Osimhen’s fiery nature could become an issue if not well managed.
“But don’t push Osimhen to the breaking point. I sensed it. I can’t predict what Osimhen will do when he loses his temper,” Çakar warned.
“That’s the kind of kid he is. That’s how he broke away from Napoli in the first place.”
Osimhen remains one of the most talked-about African strikers in Europe, admired for his passion, aggression, and relentless approach to the game.
