Super Eagles star striker Victor Osimhen set a new assist record in Galatasaray's 5-1 demolition of Eyüpspor in a Turkish Süper Lig fixture on Friday night, with Icardi scoring a hat-trick, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Galatasaray avoided making any mistakes in the derby week. In a match where the visiting team played with 10 men for approximately 60 minutes, the yellow-red team won with goals from Yunus and Icardi.

In the match where Icardi scored a hat-trick, two of the goals were assisted by Osimhen.

The Nigerian star striker provided one assist to Yunus and another  to Icardi.

According to players statistics platform OptaCan, Osimhen set a career record in the game.

It posted on X app, Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen made two assists in a league match against Eyüpspor for the first time in his professional career (229 matches).

With this result, Galatasaray increased their points tally to 55 ahead of the derby match between Trabzonspor and Fenerbahçe.
