Osimhen Skips Napoli Training, Flies Private Jet To Morocco For CAF Awards

Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen was absent from Napoli's morning training session on Monday ahead of a key Champions League fixture against Braga, as he flew to Morocco to attend the 2023 African Footballer of the Year Award, BSNSports.com.ng has sourced.

La Repubblica reports Osimhen didn’t take part in Monday morning’s training session at Castel Volturno as he had taken a private flight from Capodichino Airport, and few hours landed in Morocco where he will attend the African Footballer of the Year Award.

The ceremony begins tonight at the Palais des Congrès, Movenpick, Marrakech. 

The Napoli striker, last year’s top scorer in Serie A, is tipped to win the Player of the Year award ahead Liverpool star Mohamed Salah and PSG defender Achraf Hakimi.

La Repubblica didn’t report whether Osimhen’s absence from this morning’s training session had been agreed with his club.
