Over 10 Countries Confirmed For 2025 West Africa Table Tennis Championships

The 2025 ITTF Africa West Regional Table Tennis Championships is set to witness record participation, with over 10 countries confirming their presence for the tournament in Lagos, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Scheduled to run from July 16 to 19 at the Molade Okoya-Thomas Hall inside Teslim Balogun Stadium, the event promises intense regional competition.

Countries including Benin Republic, Burkina Faso, Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana, Guinea, Liberia, Niger Republic, and Sierra Leone will compete, with Guinea, Niger Republic, and Sierra Leone making a return after years of absence.

Defending champions Nigeria and Togo are preparing to battle for regional supremacy once again.

Nigeria, the most successful nation in the region, will defend the women’s team title it retained in Lomé last year.

Meanwhile, Togo is aiming for back-to-back men’s team titles after narrowly edging Nigeria 3-2 in last year’s final.

The women’s singles category will crown a new champion this year, as Nigeria’s Hope Udoaka, the reigning titleholder, will not be participating.

In addition to regional glory, the competition also serves as a qualification event for the 2025 African Championships, set to take place later this year in Rwanda.
