Over 20 Nations Confirm Attendance at Inaugural African Boxing Congress in Lagos

More than 20 African countries have confirmed their participation in the inaugural African Boxing Congress and Gala Night, scheduled to take place in Lagos on Saturday, December 28, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The landmark event, organised by the Nigeria Boxing Federation (NBF), will be held at the banquet hall of Providence Hotel in GRA, Ikeja, and is expected to bring together key stakeholders from across the continent.

Delegations are set to arrive from several African nations, including Namibia, Libya, The Gambia, Sierra Leone, Madagascar, Ghana, Botswana, Somalia, Sudan, Algeria, Egypt, Malawi, Morocco, Gabon, Uganda and host nation Nigeria, among others.

The congress will be convened under the auspices of African Boxing, the continent’s governing boxing body. The gathering aims to establish new continental structures aligned with World Boxing, elect leadership officials and outline strategic plans for the long-term development and growth of boxing across Africa.

The Lagos congress is widely viewed as a significant step toward strengthening governance, unity and global competitiveness within African boxing.
