PFAN Sets to Begin National U-17 Football Tournament For Boys, Girls

Professional Footballers Association of Nigeria (PFAN), the biggest stakeholders in Nigeria football is set to begin the maiden edition of the National U-17 Football Tournament for Boys and Girls, BSNSports.com.ng reports. 

A statement by the General Secretary of PFAN, Emmanuel Babayaro indicates that the National Finals of the tournament will take place every third quarter of every year. 

According to the statement: "The PFAN President, Tijani Babangida will be inaugurating the Main Organizing Committee, MOC, for this year’s tournament sometime next week as they will be saddled with the responsibility of organizing the tournament from start to finish.

"However, the chairmen of PFAN state chapters are to immediately by this notice set up their state Local Organizing Committee, LOC, as every state shall be responsible for the organizing of the PFAN CUP under 17 in that state. 

"This is the maiden edition of this tournament and shall be for boys and girls; However, the MOC shall design a different template for the female tournament. 

"The rules and regulations governing the tournament shall be established by the MOC.

"The Tournament shall be a yearly affair as PFAN in keeping to its mandate is determined to impact the next generation of super star footballers and role models. 

"The PFAN President, Tijani Babangida MON is very excited about the tournament and has promised to make sure the tournament lives up to its billing."
