PSG, Man United Set To Trigger Osimhen's Release Clause

Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain have both expressed a strong interest in activating the release clause in Super Eagles Victor Osimhen's contract with Napoli, BSNSports.com.ng has sourced.

Reports indicate that they are currently in discussions with the Nigerian international.

Osimhen was heavily linked with a move to Chelsea last summer, but after negotiations broke down late in the process, he ultimately joined Turkish side Galatasaray on loan for the season.

Notably, the loan agreement does not include an option for a permanent transfer.

Galatasaray is eager to keep Osimhen, but they are facing significant competition as Yagiz Sabuncuoglu has revealed that both Manchester United and PSG have intensified their interest in the 26-year-old player.

"Victor Osimhen is on the verge of signing with a well-known management company," Sabuncuoglu stated in an interview with Sports Digitale.

"Furthermore, a player from Real Madrid is mediating these discussions. This implies that the likelihood of Osimhen remaining with Galatasaray in June has significantly decreased."

"PSG and Manchester United have made verbal offers to Osimhen regarding his salary and contract duration, and both clubs are prepared to meet the release clause set by Napoli. Galatasaray will find it very difficult to compete with these two top clubs, making it increasingly likely that Osimhen will depart at the end of the season."

While the exact value of Osimhen's release clause has not been disclosed, reports suggest it has fallen to around £65 million, a fee that is relatively affordable for top European teams.

However, United's head coach, Ruben Amorim, has already raised concerns about the club's transfer budget for the summer.

Despite the changes in his circumstances, Osimhen has maintained his impressive goal-scoring form since moving to Turkey, amassing 17 goals and five assists in 23 appearances across all competitions, effectively matching his goal tally from the previous season at Napoli.
