Pacesetter Queens Set For Debut In 2025/26 NWFL Season

Pacesetter Queens have secured a historic promotion to the Nigeria Women’s Football League (NWFL) for the 2025/26 season, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
The Oyo State-owned club acquired the league slot of Benue Queens, sealing their first-ever appearance in Nigeria’s top-tier women’s football competition.
Oyo State Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Alhaja Wasilat Adefemi Adegoke, confirmed the development, adding that the team will serve as the official women’s side of Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) outfit, Shooting Stars.
With Pacesetter Queens’ inclusion, the South-West region now has seven representatives in the NWFL: Robo Queens, Dannaz Ladies (Lagos), Remo Stars Ladies, Castmog Ladies (Ogun), Sunshine Queens (Ondo), Osun Babes (Osun), and Pacesetter Queens (Oyo).
The kickoff date and fixtures for the upcoming season will be unveiled during the league’s Annual General Assembly in Port Harcourt on Tuesday, October 29, 2025.
