Injured defender Halimatu Ayinde has thrown her weight behind Super Falcons despite defeat to Spain, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Putela scored in the 85th minute to hand the Falcons another defeat in the ongoing Olympic game in Paris.

" I know we're all feeling disappointed right now, but I want you all to know that we're in this together, We've worked hard and achieved so much. 

"This setback doesn't define us. Let's pick ourselves up and keep pushing forward. 

"We're stronger together and I believe in each of you. Let's keep our heads up and press on for greatness", she said.

Falcons will face Japan in the final group match.
