The head coach of the Nigeria's D'Tigress Rene Wakama has revealed how they were able to tame the Opals of Australia, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The African champions surprised the entire world on Monday with their emphatic 75-62 win against the Aussie who is ranked 3rd in the power rankings.

"I have a wave of emotions. I am so proud and excited for this group. I've got a lot of girls that are hungry and shocked the world," said Wakama.

"We are tough. It's in our DNA, it's who we are - we don't back down and I just want to bring a lot of energy and passion," she added.

D'Tigress will face Canada in the next group game before playing the host France in the final group match.
