Paris 2024: Oshoala Eye A Podium Finish

Bay FC forward Asisat Oshoala is eyeing an Olympic medal with Nigeria's Super Falcons in the upcoming games in Paris, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Falcons returned to the Olympics after missing the back-to-back games and Oshoala is excited to be playing in her first Olympics.

While speaking to FIFA media, Oshoala admitted that bookmakers have written them off but she's confident of causing an upset in France. 

" At the World Cup last year, people said the same thing.

“They said we were in the Group of Death [with Australia, Canada, and the Republic of Ireland] and could not qualify. 

But we did. I have a lot of confidence in this team. We have many young players and we can make things difficult for our opponents. 

We don’t just think about getting out of the group, I think we can actually walk away with a medal", she said.

Nigeria have been handed one of the toughest draws in Paris 2024 and they will take on Brazil, Japan, and Spain in Group C.
