In the aftermath of crashing out of the women's football event of the Olympic Games in Paris, coach Randy Waldrum has opened up on reasons Super Falcons crashed out of the competition, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
The 9-time African champions lost all the 3 group games to Brazil, Spain and Japan and bowed out of the games.
Waldrum attributed the ouster to poor preparations and injury to some key players in the team.
"We prepared for all our group opponents based on the fact that we haven't had a lot of time.
"Preparation efforts were significantly impacted by visa issues, which delayed the arrival of several invited players to the camp.
"Additionally, injuries to key players like Ashleigh Plumptre and Halimatu Ayinde further disrupted the team training schedule.
" We missed the last window before the Olympics, and so we missed 10 days of good training before the Olympics", he explained.
