Paris FC Nears €5M Deal for Super Eagles Winger Moses Simon
By Admin
Paris FC is closing in on a deal to sign Nigerian international Moses Simon from FC Nantes, as the newly promoted Ligue 1 side looks to strengthen its squad ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.
According to reports from RMC Sport, negotiations between the two clubs are progressing positively, with a transfer fee in the region of €5 million expected to seal the move. While talks remain ongoing and no agreement has been finalized, both parties are said to be optimistic that a deal could be reached in the coming days.
An earlier report from Ouest-France revealed that Nantes had initially rejected a €5 million bid from Paris FC, hoping to secure a higher fee for the Super Eagles winger. However, with Simon entering the final year of his contract, there is mounting pressure on Nantes to sell now rather than risk losing him on a free transfer next summer.
Despite reported interest from Rennes, Olympique Marseille, and English Premier League side Everton, sources close to the player indicate that Simon is leaning toward a move to Paris FC. The ambitious project laid out by the capital-based club has reportedly swayed his decision, even after suggestions he might avoid joining another French side out of loyalty to Nantes.
Simon had an impressive 2024/25 season, registering eight goals and ten assists across all competitions. Since joining Nantes from Spanish side Levante in 2020, the 29-year-old has established himself as a consistent attacking threat and a fan favorite at the Stade de la Beaujoire.
With pre-season set to begin on July 3, Paris FC is working swiftly to finalize key signings. If successful, the acquisition of Simon would mark one of the club’s first major moves in the transfer market as they prepare for top-flight football and aim to avoid immediate relegation.
