Paris Olympics: France Beat Argentina To Face Egypt In Men’s Football Semifinal

Host France have booked their place in the semi-finals of the men’s football event of the ongoing Paris Olympics after beating Argentina 1-0 in their quarterfinal match on Friday night in Bordeaux.

Jean-Philippe Mateta’s early goal proved the difference as Thierry Henry-led side overcame Argentina to reach the semi-finals of the 2024 Paris Games.

The Crystal Palace forward struck after just five minutes and that was enough to end the South Americans’ quest for gold in the French capital.

France will face Egypt in the semifinal on Monday, August 5, while Spain will take on Morocco in the other final four fixture of the competition.
