Paris Olympics: Tobi Amusan Named Team Nigeria's Flagbearer For Opening Ceremony

Nigeria's Queen of Track and World Record holder in the 100m Women's hurdles, Tobi Amusan has been named Team Nigeria flagbearer for the opening ceremony of the 2024 Paris Olympics, reports BSNSports.com.ng.

She becomes the first athlete from Athletics in 20 years, since Mary Onyali at the Athens 2004 Games, to have such an honour. 

In another appointment, the Nigerian Olympic Committee (NOC) also announced Badminton male star, Anuoluwapo Opeyori as the General Team captain for Nigeria in Paris.

Nigeria is scheduled to compete in Athletics, 

Badminton, Basketball, Boxing, Canoeing, Cycling, Football, Table Tennis, Taekwondo, Weightlifting and Wrestling at the summer Olympics from 26 July to 11 August 2024.

A total of 88 athletes will represent the nation in different sports.
