Paseiro Says He's Proud To Be Eagles Coach

Newly-appointed Super Eagles of Nigeria coach, Jose Paseiro, has confirmed how proud he is to be handling the team and quickly focus on winning the 4th African Cup of Nations trophy, BSNsports.com.ng report


The Portuguese gaffer was appointed to take the reign of the team after the interim coach, Austin Eguavoen was asked to step aside after the team failed to qualify for the Qatar 2022 World cup.


For the first time, the former Venezuela manager reacted to his appointment via his social media handle and stipulated how ready he is to take charge of the team.


" Pride! It is with great pride and joy that I am the coach of one of the greatest football nations in the world. 


"Commanding the Super Eagles starts with knowing how to respect the history, value it and be inspired by its roots. Over 200 million Nigerians, from all states and ethnicities, want the same thing: success.

We will work with great ambition so that in the end we can finally call Nigeria the "four-time African champions"! he said.


Paseiro's first assignment as the coach of the team is a doubleheader International friendly match against Mexico and Ecuador
