Passport Issues Reason For Okoye's Withdrawal From Super Eagles 2026 World Cup Qualifier -Peseiro

The head coach of Nigeria's Super Eagles Jose Peseiro has finally revealed the reason goalkeeper Maduka Okoye pulled out of the team, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The Udinese of Italy goalkeeper was among the 23 players invited for the qualifiers against Lesotho and Zimbabwe.

He announced his withdrawal from the team earlier in the week and it was a surprise decision for Super Eagles followers and stakeholders across the country.

The Portuguese gaffer on Wednesday evening revealed that Okoye had passport issues and it affected his travelling arrangements.

Bendel Insurance goalkeeper Amas Obasogie was quickly called up to take up his position on the team.
