Patience Okon-George Clinch Gold In Abidjan

Nigeria’s Patience Okon-George continued her impressive start to the 2026 season by claiming victory in the women’s 400m at the Continental Tour meeting in Abidjan, Ivory Coast on Wednesday, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Fresh from helping Team Nigeria secure qualification in the mixed 4x400m relay at the World Relays in Gaborone, Okon-George delivered another strong performance on the track.

The experienced quarter-miler clocked a season’s best time of 51.34 seconds to finish first in the event ahead of Burkina Faso’s Sibri Sita, who placed second in 51.88 seconds, while Niger’s Samira Awali came third in 52.01 seconds.

The victory further highlights Okon-George’s fine form as preparations continue for upcoming international championships later in the season.
