Patrick Vieira Appointed Senegal Head Coach

Patrick Vieira has been appointed the new head coach of the Senegalese national team, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The Senegalese Football Federation (FSF) officially announced the appointment of the former France international on Tuesday, August 18, 2026.

Vieira, a World Cup winner with France in 1998, takes charge of the Teranga Lions as they prepare for their upcoming international assignments.

The former Arsenal, Juventus and Inter Milan midfielder brings extensive experience from his managerial career, having previously coached clubs including Manchester City’s youth team, New York City FC, Nice, Crystal Palace and Strasbourg.

The appointment marks a new chapter for Vieira, who will now lead Senegal’s senior national team and oversee the development of the Teranga Lions on the international stage.
