Former Super Eagles goalkeeper Peterside Idah has voiced concerns over Nigeria’s preparedness for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco, according to a report by Pulse Sports on December 10, 2025. Idah warned that the national team is not yet fully equipped to compete at the level required for a successful outing at the tournament.

He noted that several key aspects of the team’s build-up particularly player fitness, tactical cohesion, and final squad selection still need significant improvement.

Idah stressed that upcoming friendly matches and training sessions will play a vital role in sharpening the squad and boosting confidence before the competition kicks off.

His remarks have resonated with fans and analysts, many of whom believe his assessment echoes broader concerns surrounding Nigeria’s preparation and overall team management. With the tournament fast approaching, Idah’s comments serve as a timely reminder of the work still required to ensure the Super Eagles are fully ready for continental battle.
