Leicester City defender Ashleigh Plumptre has said she is proud of the performance of Super Falcons in the just concluded 2022 African Women Cup of Nations in Morocco, BSNsports.com.ng reports.
Plumptre switched her allegiance to Nigeria, and the competition in Morocco happened to be her first appearance for the country in a major tournament.
While reacting to the performance of the team, Plumptre expressed her happiness to have appeared in a major competition.
"Proud to have battled alongside a resilient and determined group of women for five weeks at my first senior major tournament.
"Thank you for the lessons learnt, experiences had and the opportunity to represent way more than just myself.
Morocco, thank you."
The left-footed full-back is expected to be part of the Super Falcons team at the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.
