Port Harcourt to Host 2025 Men’s Premier Basketball League Finals

The Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF) has announced Port Harcourt, Rivers State, as the host city for the finals of the 2025 Nigeria Men’s Premier Basketball League, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

According to a statement signed by NBBF Vice President and Chairman of the Premier Basketball League, Babs Ogunade, and released by the federation’s Secretary, Mrs. Amina Amanchi, the decision followed the successful conclusion of the Atlantic and Savannah Conferences.

After inviting bids from participating teams to host the Final Eight and Final Four phases, the NBBF confirmed that Rivers Hoopers Basketball Club emerged as the sole bidder for both stages.

“As the only team to bid for both finals, the NBBF has approved and awarded the hosting rights of the Final 8 and Final 4 to Rivers Hoopers Basketball Club of Port Harcourt,” the statement read.

In their proposal, Rivers Hoopers pledged to provide a standard venue, adequate facilities, top-notch security, medical support, live online streaming of all games, transportation to and from competition venues, financial assistance to participating teams as accommodation subsidies, and logistical support to the federation to ensure a smooth and hitch-free event.

The Final Eight is scheduled to hold from October 26 to November 3, 2025.

Teams are expected to arrive on October 26, with matches to be played in a round-robin format from October 27 to November 2.

The Final Four, featuring the top four teams from the Final Eight, will take place from November 20 to 23, 2025, at the same venue in Port Harcourt.
