Following the loss of their chance to host the 2035 FIFA Women’s World Cup, Portugal, Spain, and Morocco are considering a joint bid to host the World Cup scheduled for 2039, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
On Thursday, after FIFA President Gianni Infantino confirmed that the United Kingdom had submitted the only valid bid for 2035, the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF) announced its renewed ambition to bring the tournament to the Iberian Peninsula and North Africa.
"Based on the policy of investing in the development of Women's Football, one of the main objectives of this Directorate's Programmatic Plan, the Portuguese Football Federation informs that it is in talks with the Royal Spanish Football Federation and the Royal Moroccan Football Federation with a view to co-organizing a Women's Football World Cup.”
