Portugal VS Nigeria Friendly: Super Eagles Train Without Goalkeepers In Lisbon

The Super Eagles on Monday night conspicuously had their first training without a goalkeeper ahead of Thursday's high profile international friendly game with Portugal, as the trio of Maduka Okoye (Watford), Francis Uzoho (AC Omonia) and Adebayo Adeleye (Hapoel Jerusalem) were yet to arrive in Lisbon, reports BSNSports.com.ng reports.

As at the time of filing this report, captain William Troost-Ekong, red-hot strike trio of Ademola Lookman, Paul Onuachu, Terem Moffi, Alex Iwobi and 11 other Super Eagles stars trained under the watchful eyes of head coach Jose Peseiro and his assistants.

Others who took part in the light warm-up session were Bruno Onyemaechi, Kevin Akpoguma, Oghenekaro Etebo, Chidiebube Duru, Emmanuel Dennis, Joe Aribo, Frank Onyeka, Tyronne Ebuehi, Chidozie Awaziem and Bright Osayi Samuel.

While Ajax Amsterdam defender Calvin Bassey who was touted to be injured was among the early bird and trained too.

More than 30 minutes after the training started at 8pm local time, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) verified twitter handle or that of Super Eagles was yet to post a tweet if any of the shot stoppers had arrived in Lisbon.

Meanwhile, the tune-up game against the World Cup-bound team is billed for the Estadio Jose Alvalade in Lisbon with a kick-off time of 6.45 pm Portugal time (and 7.45 pm in Nigeria).
