Two of Africa’s football heavyweights, Senegal national football team and Morocco national football team, have unveiled formidable squads for their upcoming international friendlies, underlining their intent to maintain momentum ahead of future competitive fixtures, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Senegal Blend Experience with Emerging Talent

Senegal head coach Pape Thiaw has selected a well-balanced squad for friendlies against Peru national football team and Gambia national football team, combining a strong core of experienced internationals with promising young talent.

In goal, Edouard Mendy leads the options, supported by Mory Diaw and Yehvann Diouf.

The defence is anchored by captain Kalidou Koulibaly, alongside Moussa Niakhaté, Ismail Jakobs and Antoine Mendy, with additional versatility provided by Krépin Diatta, Abdoulaye Seck and Nobel Mendy.

Midfield responsibilities fall to the experienced Idrissa Gueye, supported by a dynamic group including Lamine Camara, Habib Diarra, Pape Gueye and Pape Matar Sarr.

In attack, Senegal boast significant firepower through Nicolas Jackson and Ismaila Sarr, alongside Boulaye Dia, Bamba Dieng and Habib Diallo. Emerging prospects such as Assane Diao and Mamadou Diakhon further highlight the squad’s depth.

The fixtures, scheduled for late March, will offer valuable opportunities to assess tactical approaches, build cohesion, and evaluate squad depth. The encounter with Peru presents an intercontinental challenge, while the clash with Gambia provides a familiar regional contest.

Morocco Maintain Depth Ahead of South American Tests

Meanwhile, Morocco head coach Walid Regragui has named a strong and balanced squad for friendlies against Ecuador national football team and Paraguay national football team.

Between the posts, Yassine Bounou leads the goalkeeping unit, supported by El Mehdi Benabid and El Mehdi Al Harrar.

The defence features established names such as Achraf Hakimi, Noussair Mazraoui and Romain Saïss, complemented by emerging talents including Abdelhamid Aït Boudlal and Chadi Riad.

In midfield, creativity and control will be driven by Azzedine Ounahi and Bilal El Khannouss, with additional options including Ismael Saibari, Neil El Aynaoui and Oussama Targhalline.

Morocco’s attack is spearheaded by Youssef En-Nesyri and Hakim Ziyech, alongside in-form forwards Ayoub El Kaabi, Soufiane Rahimi and Abdessamad Ezzalzouli.

The upcoming fixtures against Ecuador and Paraguay are expected to provide a stern test, with both South American sides known for their physical and tactical intensity. For Morocco, the matches will serve as a key platform to refine tactical systems and strengthen squad cohesion.
