Zimbabwe’s Power Dynamos have withdrawn from the 2025/26 CAF Confederation Cup, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
The team secured their spot in the competition after a strong league performance last season, but the club’s management decided they are not yet adequately prepared for continental action.
In a statement, Power Dynamos explained: “We regret to inform our stakeholders that we will not be participating in the 2025/26 CAF Confederation Cup. After a thorough evaluation, we have concluded that the team is not yet ready to compete at the continental level this year.”
The statement further added: “While this decision was difficult, we believe it’s in the best interest of the team and everyone associated with Dynamos to focus on strengthening our readiness for future competitions, instead of participating just to make up the numbers.”
The Zimbabwean side remained firm in their long-term ambitions, stating: “We appreciate your continued support as we work toward improving our competitiveness at both the local and continental level. We look forward to future opportunities to represent our country with honour and pride, and we pledge to return even stronger.”
