Ibrahim Lateef
Tanzania Taifa Stats are set to engage Kuwait in a friendly match on November 15, as part of their preparations for the TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2025.
The match comes ahead of Tanzania's opening fixture against three-time champions Nigeria on December 23, reports BSNSports.com.ng.
With a new coaching direction under Miguel Gamondi, who takes over from Hemed Suleiman, the Tanzania squad features some exciting changes.
One notable recall is Denmark-based striker Kevin John, who returns to the team after an 18-month absence.
Gamondi has named a 22-man squad for the friendly match, and John’s inclusion signifies a promising shift for the team. In addition to John, veteran defender Mohamed Hussein, midfielder Mudathir Yahya, and Azerbaijan-based Alphonce Mabula are also back in the fold.
Notably, Simba defender Shomari Kapombe is returning to contribute to the team’s efforts.
As Tanzania prepares for their journey in Group C of the Africa Cup of Nations, their first game against Nigeria will be crucial, followed by matches against Uganda and Tunisia.
