Predicted Super Eagles Starting XI: Okonkwo, Moffi, Ndidi Expected to Start Against Portugal

Super Eagles are expected to field a strong lineup when they face Portugal in an international friendly, as head coach Eric Chelle looks to guide his side back to winning ways following their draw against Poland, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The Super Eagles showed flashes of quality in their previous outing but were unable to secure victory, prompting expectations that Chelle will name one of his strongest available teams for the highly anticipated encounter.

Predicted Formation: 4-4-2

Goalkeeper:

Arthur Okonkwo

Defenders:

Abdullahi Bewene, Bassey, Semi Ajayi, Bruno Onyemaechi

Midfielders:

Moses Simon, Frank Onyeka, Wilfred Ndidi, Alex Iwobi

Forwards:

Akor Adams, Terem Moffi

Okonkwo is tipped to start in goal after Stanley Okoye's performance in the draw against Poland raised questions over the goalkeeping position. The shot-stopper could be handed an opportunity to impress between the posts against the Portuguese side.

In defence, Abdullahi Bewene is expected to retain his place at right-back following an encouraging display in the previous match. The central defensive partnership may consist of Bassey and Semi Ajayi, while Bruno Onyemaechi is likely to continue at left-back after featuring against Poland.

The midfield is expected to blend experience with energy. Moses Simon could operate from the right flank, while Alex Iwobi is tipped to start on the opposite wing after an impressive showing in the last outing. In central midfield, the experienced duo of Frank Onyeka and Wilfred Ndidi are expected to provide stability and control.

Up front, Akor Adams is likely to earn a starting role after making a positive impact against Poland. He could be partnered by Terem Moffi, who was on target in Nigeria's 2-2 draw and remains one of the team's key attacking threats.

With several influential players available on the bench, Chelle will have additional options should the match require tactical adjustments. A positive result against Portugal would provide a significant boost as the Super Eagles continue preparations for upcoming competitive fixtures.
