Premier League Giants Brighton Reach Agreement With Nigeria Youngster
Sampson Adedeji
Premier League side Brighton & Hove Albion have reached a verbal agreement with highly-rated Nigerian youngster Zadok Yohanna, as the club continues its push to secure emerging talents, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
The 18-year-old winger is understood to be one of Brighton’s priority transfer targets, with the club moving swiftly to position themselves ahead of other interested teams monitoring his development.
Negotiations are currently ongoing with Swedish outfit AIK, who retain contractual control over the player.
Sources indicate that discussions between both clubs are progressing, although a final agreement has yet to be reached.
German Bundesliga side RB Leipzig were previously in the race for Yohanna’s signature but have now withdrawn their interest, with the proposed deal considered financially excessive.
Yohanna, regarded as one of Nigeria’s promising young prospects, recently missed the concluded Unity Cup in London due to injury, a setback that temporarily halted his momentum on the international stage.
Despite that, his profile continues to rise, with Brighton keen to finalize a deal that would see the teenager join their well-established youth development pipeline.
