Preseason: Aribo Opens Goal Account In Southampton Defeat To Villarreal

It was mixed feelings for Nigeria's Super Eagles midfielder Joe Aribo as his goal counted for little as Southampton suffered defeat to Villarreal in a tune-up game, BSNsports.com.ng reports.

Aribo joined the Saints this summer from the Scottish champion Rangers after a decent spell at the Ibrox.

Aribo started the game on Saturday against the Spanish side Villarreal and it ended in a 1-2 defeat for the host.

Gerrard Moreno opened the scoring for the Yellow Submarines in the 14th minute before Aribo levelled up with a magnificent solo effort in the 63rd minute.

Moreno completed his brace in the 72nd minute to secure a win for the Spanish club.
