Preseason: Rivers United Battles Ashanti Kotoko In Turkey

Newly crowned Nigeria Professional Football League champions Rivers United plans to have a good outing in the 2022/2023 CAF champions league got a boost, BSNsports.com.ng understands.

Rivers won the league last season after they secured the highest number of points after 38 rounds of matches and they already have in plan to tour Madrid, Spain for their preseason.

Ghanaian Premier League champions Ashanti Kotoko has confirmed that they will be facing the Nigerian side in an international friendly.

The two champions will come face to face in Istanbul, Turkey in a cup game tagged City's Gate Champions Cup.

The game has been fixed for the 24th of August barely a month before the start of the 2022/2023 Nigeria Professional Football League season.
