Preseason Game: Captain 'Fantastic' Omeruo Spurs Leganes To Victory

Spanish second division side CD Leganes played its first preseason game on Saturday evening and it was a game to remember for the club, BSNsports.com.ng reports.

Nigeria's Super Eagles defender Kenneth Omeruo was the cynosure of all eyes in the keenly contested encounter against Getafe.

Apart from being the captain of the team, the former Middlesbrough defender showed a solid performance and quality defending to wade off the attacking threats of Getafe.

It was Cisse that gave Leganes the lead in the 33rd minute before De Kravets added the second goal in the 65th minute to secure a 2-0 win.

Leganes narrowly missed promotion to the Spanish La Liga last season due injury to some key players of the team including Omeruo.

The team resumed training for the new season on Monday and began it readiness to challenge for the promotion ticket in the coming season.
