An eventful weekend unfolded for Lecce U20 winger Divine Onyemachi as the Nigerian-descent forward both found the net and was sent off during his side’s 3-1 victory over Inter Milan U20s in the Primavera 1 league, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The 18-year-old made a decisive impact in the encounter by getting on the scoresheet as Lecce strengthened their position with an impressive win against one of Italy’s top youth sides.

However, Onyemachi’s night ended on a sour note after he was shown a red card later in the match.

Onyemachi joined Lecce last summer after leaving English club West Bromwich Albion and has quickly adapted to life in Italy.

Operating mainly as a winger, he has been one of Lecce U20s’ standout performers this season, contributing five assists and two goals in the ongoing campaign.

Despite the dismissal, the youngster’s overall performance underlined his growing influence in Lecce’s youth setup, as he continues to attract attention with consistent displays in the highly competitive Primavera 1 league.
