Qatar 2022: Algeria Get Vital Away Win In Cameroon

By Editor

Issa Slimani's 40th minute goal condemned Cameroon to an home loss in the first leg match of the Qatar 2022 World Cup qualifier played in Douala Cameroon, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Having hosted a successful Nations Cup between January and February, Cameroon who crashed out of the tournament looks to compensate their supporters with the world cup ticket but that target has now suffered a set back.

Despite their dominance, a moment of lack of concentration in Douala may hunt the Cameroonian supporters for the rest of the year especially if they fail to make it to Qatar.

The 1-0 defeat now mean they'll have to chase the game right from the blast of whistle till the end in Algeria on Tuesday.

With the away goal rule still effective under FIFA organised tournament, to qualify for Qatar, Cameroon will have to win by at least two goals against Algeria leg.

A 1-0 win for Cameroon in Algeria will propel the game to an extra time or a possible penalty shootout
