Qatar 2022: Bassey Says He's Ready To Make Impact In Super Eagles

In-form Rangers of Scotland defender, Calvin Bassey, has declared his readiness to help Nigeria's Super Eagles qualifiers for the FIFA World Cup in Qatar, BSNsports.com.ng understands.


Bassey, born in Italy to Nigerian parents was first invited to the team in the group stage of the qualifier against Cape Verde but was unable to make his debut then.


This season he has been a revelation for the Gers both in the league and UEFA Europa League where he has played in the left-back and central defence.


He was among the players listed by Austin Eguavoen for the playoff matches against the Black Stars of Ghana.


" Joe and Leon have been there with me, I've played with them for months now and they told me about their experience with the national team.


"Joe is just coming off from the African Cup of Nations and Leon has experienced it before, so these are the things I want to experience as well and also help the team whichever way I can.


"So, I'm delighted to be here and ready to work hard for the team, " he told Brila FM.
