It was a dramatic end to group G of the World Cup on Friday as South American giants Uruguay crashed out despite beating the Black Stars of Ghana, BSNSports.com.ng report.

Uruguay goalkeeper Rochet brought down Mohammed Kudus, with Ghana being awarded the penalty after a VAR review only for Rochet to comfortably save Andre Ayew’s awful spot-kick.

It was a miss which was immediately costly as De Arrascaeta struck twice in six minutes.

The former world champions were in control of the game until the news of South Korea leading Portugal filtered in.

Portugal scored first only for Korea to come back strongly and scored twice to secure the 3 points.

Uruguay was unable to add to their tally as the Koreans secured the second spot and both Uruguay and Ghana left the tournament in the group stage.
