Qatar 2022 Fallout: Hughton Set To Take Over As Ghana Coach

Following the resignation of Otto Addo as the head coach of the Black Stars of Ghana, his technical back up Chris Hughton is set to be named as the new coach of the team, BSNSports.com.ng report.

Hughton was named in a technical support role to Addo last year as the was preparing to play the World Cup playoffs.

The former premier manager retained his position after Ghana secured their place in Qatar with Addo still in charge as the head coach.

The performance of the Black Stars at the World Cup in Qatar was not encouraging as they crashed out at the group stage of the competition after losing 2-0 to Uruguay in the final group match.

Addo left his position after the game citing that he feels more like a German than Ghanaian.

According to the update from Ghana, the Football Association has concluded an arrangement to name Hughton as the new coach on a long-time contract.
