Qatar 2022 Playoffs: Okoye Can Still Join Super Eagles - Eguavoen

Though replacement has been called up, Super Eagles manager, Austine Eguavoen has made clear that Sparta Rotterdam goalkeeper, Maduka Okoye, can still join the team, BSNsports.com.ng gathered

Okoye was ruled out of the first leg on Tuesday after it was discovered that he's down with illness and Enyimba International goalkeeper John Noble has been called up to replace him.

After the team training session, 'Cerezo' responded to questions about the young goaltender and assured him that he can join the squad once is fully recovered.

" I got a message from Maduka Okoye, that is going to come but we have a backup in John Noble who is going to join us.

If Maduka recovers and joins us there is no problem, but we have Noble as a backup, " he maintained.

The team commence their training for the doubleheader qualifier on Tuesday and they are expected to depart for Ghana on Wednesday.
