Qatar 2022 Playoffs: Okoye Ruled Out Of Ghana Clash As Noble Steps In

The preparations of Nigeria's Super Eagles for the much-awaited 2022 World Cup playoffs against Ghana suffered a big blow on Tuesday as Sparta Rotherdan goalkeeper, Maduka Okoye, was ruled out, BSNsports.com.ng gathered



According to the report coming from the camp of Super Eagles, Okoye who was in goal for his club last weekend has been down with malaria and may not be available for the doubleheader.


Another report from Holland indicated that Okoye has been tested positive for Covid 19 and unable to travel after he was asked to self-isolate.


Meanwhile, Enyimba international goalkeeper, John Noble, has been called up to take his position for the playoff.


Okoye played an active role in the group stage of the qualifier and was in goal for the country in the 2021 African Cup of Nations in Cameroon.
