The 2025 AfroBasket is set for one of its most anticipated encounters as Nigeria’s D’Tigers lock horns with Cameroon’s senior men's national team in a decisive Group B showdown on Sunday in Luanda, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Both sides head into the clash unbeaten after two games each, with Nigeria sitting atop the group on points difference. The stakes are clear: victory guarantees an automatic quarterfinal berth, while defeat means taking the longer route through the playoff round.

Nigeria opened their campaign in commanding fashion, defeating Madagascar 77–59 before dismantling defending champions Tunisia 87–66. Josh Okogie’s electrifying 33-point performance against Tunisia underscored the team’s growing momentum, while Caleb Agada’s leadership in the opening game highlighted the squad’s depth and versatility. With a strong bench and tactical flexibility, the D’Tigers have shown they are poised not just to contend, but to reclaim a continental title last won in 2015.

Cameroon, meanwhile, has been one of the tournament’s revelations. The Lions stunned Tunisia 86–65 in their opening fixture, ending the North Africans’ decade-long unbeaten AfroBasket run. Williams Narace led the charge with 20 points, while NBA talents Yves Missi, Ulrich Chomche (both of the New Orleans Pelicans), and Christian Koloko (LA Lakers) have given the team a formidable edge.

Their second outing, however, revealed vulnerabilities. Cameroon narrowly escaped Madagascar 80–77, needing late-game heroics from Jeremiah Hill to stay perfect in the group. Against a resurgent Nigerian side, they will need greater consistency to avoid punishment.

Sunday’s clash is more than a group-stage contest—it is a battle for supremacy between two continental heavyweights. For Nigeria, the game represents a chance to extend their dominance and underline their title ambitions; for Cameroon, it is an opportunity to announce themselves as genuine contenders on Africa’s biggest basketball stage.
