Quickpen Emerges Nigeria Chess Olympiad Qualifier Women’s Champion

Nigerian chess player Deborah Quickpen has emerged as the winner of the Nigeria Chess Olympiad Qualifier 2026 women’s category after an impressive performance in the tournament, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Quickpen finished top of the standings with 7.5 points from nine rounds to claim the national title and secure her place among the country’s leading chess stars.

Her triumph also saw her gain 33 rating points, moving her rating to 2174 the highest rating ever achieved by a Nigerian woman in chess history.

The achievement marks another major milestone in Nigerian chess, with Quickpen continuing to establish herself as one of the country’s top female players ahead of future international competitions.
