RS Berkane Bundle Bendel Insurance Out of CAF Confederation Cup

Bendel Insurance can not go past Second Preliminary round of 2023/24 CAF Confederation Cup as they lost a 0-1 to RS Berkane of Morocco in the return leg after a 2-2 draw in Nigeria, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The 1-0 home win helped RS Berkane to a 3-2 aggregate victory and move into the group stage of the competition while last season Nigeria's Federation Cup winners return home to start preparation for the 2023/24 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).

Bendel Insurance were drawn to face defending champions, Enyimba International in the 2023/24 NPFL opener but the match was postponed following Insurance international engagement. With Insurance ouster, three out of four Nigeria representatives at this season's CAF inter-club competitions have been shown the exit doors without reaching the group stages.

Enyimba International and Remo Stars - the 2022/23 NPFL champions and runners up lost to their opponents in the First Preliminary round of CAF Champions League.

Nigeria have only Rivers United competing in the Confederation Cup.

In another Confederation Cup played on Friday, Super Sports of South Africa have qualified after a 3-0 aggregate win over Gaborone United.
