By Niyi Busari
The Nigeria National League (NNL) Super Four tournament gets underway today, Monday, 4th May, 2026 in Ikenne, Ogun State, with Sporting Lagos set to face Ranchers Bees in what promises to be a high-intensity opening fixture, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
The match, scheduled for a 2:00 p.m. kickoff, will take place at the Remo Stars Stadium, which hosts the championship-deciding postseason competition. Later in the day, Inter Lagos will take on Doma United at the same venue, with kickoff set for 4:00 p.m.
The Super Four tournament will determine the overall NNL champions, with the winner set to receive a ₦10 million prize. Each of the participating clubs is also guaranteed ₦2 million as a participation fee.
Ahead of the competition, Chief Executive Officer of Toptier Sports Management Limited, Chichi Nwoko, expressed confidence in the preparedness of the आयोजन team, noting that comprehensive arrangements have been made to ensure a seamless and memorable tournament.
“We have worked extensively to ensure all logistics and matchday operations meet the expected standards. Our objective is to deliver a competition that reflects the league’s continued growth and professionalism,” she said.
Organisers have also introduced mandatory pre-match and post-match press conferences, requiring each team to present their head coach and one player, as part of efforts to uphold professional standards.
Sporting Lagos and Inter Lagos will be aiming to represent Lagos with distinction, while Doma United and Ranchers Bees — the latter owned by Super Eagles striker Umar Sadiq — will be equally determined to claim the title.
With all four teams having already secured promotion to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), attention now shifts to securing silverware, as well as building momentum ahead of the upcoming top-flight season.Alternative Headlines
