Rangers Can Match Super Eagles’ Quality, Says Ilechukwu

Super Eagles assistant coach Fidelis Ilechukwu has expressed confidence that Rangers International will benefit significantly from his experience with the Nigeria national team following the recently concluded Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Ilechukwu, who also serves as head coach of the Enugu-based club, was part of the technical crew that guided the Super Eagles to a third-place finish at the continental tournament.

Speaking after rejoining Rangers on Thursday, Ilechukwu said the exposure gained at international level would help elevate the club’s standards, with the long-term goal of transforming Rangers into a dominant force in Nigerian and African football.

“In the next few years, Rangers International will look like this current Super Eagles squad,” Ilechukwu said. “Hopefully, the state and the people will benefit from what we are building.”

The coach added that the experience of working with elite players at AFCON had strengthened his technical outlook and reinforced his belief in developing a competitive team capable of sustained success.

Ilechukwu will now turn his attention back to domestic duties as he prepares Rangers for their Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) clash against Warri Wolves on Sunday.
