Scottish Premier League club Rangers has prepared to offload Nigeria's Super Eagles striker Cyril Dessers after the penalty shootout incident against rival Celtic FC, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The nervy Scottish Cup final ended in penalties and Dessers became a top talking point after he did not take a spot-kick during the shootout.

“To a certain extent, the players have got to feel it themselves and if Dessers is not feeling it, you cannot force him into taking a penalty.

“Again, the whole thing highlights what is a deficiency".

"He has dropped down the pecking order now anyway, but you cannot have your main number nine not able to step up and take one of the first five penalties in a massive game like that", former Rangers star Michael Stewart said.

Meanwhile, French side St Etienne has indicated interest in having Dessers service but the Gers is requesting for £3.5 million.
