Rangers make Josh Maja a top summer transfer target

Rangers have made Nigerian striker Josh Maja a key target for the summer transfer window with two strikers wanted at Ibrox, BSNSports.com.ng has sourced.
That’s according to Football lnsider, who claim that Rangers want to sign multiple forwards at the end of the season.
It’s stated that Maja is a ‘top target’ for Rangers having already been linked with a move to Ibrox.
Michael Beale seemingly knows that he needs more firepower heading into next term and multiple signings are needed.
Alfredo Morelos is out of contract this summer and currently looks like to leave on a free transfer.
Antonio Colak is in decent form but has had injury problems this season and Kemar Roofe sadly seems to be on the treatment table more often than he is on the pitch.
Maja spent time in the ranks of Crystal Palace and Fulham as a kid having been born in Lewisham, South-East London.
Manchester City saw promise in Maja and lured him to the North West despite his registration being with Fulham – but he didn’t quite make the grade there.
Maja headed to Sunderland in 2015 and he signed a first pro deal with the Black Cats a year later.
The Nigerian attacker absolutely exploded into life in the 2018-19 season, smashing 16 goals in 30 games for Sunderland.
That prompted major interest from elsewhere and French side Bordeaux saw big potential in Maja, bringing him over to France.
24 goals in 82 games isn’t a terrible record for Bordeaux and he has managed 11 goals in France’s second tier this season.
Maja also had fairly unsuccessful loan spells at Fulham and Stoke City in recent years, failing to really show his best form.
Bordeaux are challenging for promotion but Maja may still leave this summer with Rangers sniffing around.
Maja has blown hot and cold in his career but Beale must believe that he can get the best out of him at Rangers if the reports are true.
