The reason Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali submitted a transfer request to the management of Chippa United has been revealed, BSNSports.com.ng reports. 

The South African club were reportedly demanding R6.8 million from Tanzanian giants Simba SC for the Nigerian international just a few weeks ago, but the proposed transfer collapsed due to internal reservations within the club.

Head coach Steve Barker was said to be opposed to the deal, especially with Nwabali having only six months left on his contract, a situation that complicated negotiations and valuation expectations.

Sources close to the club revealed that the goalkeeper subsequently submitted a formal request to leave Chippa United, citing his desire for a new challenge and clarity over his future.

After internal discussions, the club agreed to his request, paving the way for his exit.

The development effectively ends Nwabali’s spell with the Chilli Boys, with the shot-stopper now set to complete a move away from the club as a free agent, opening a new chapter in his career.
