MatchDay 15 in the NPFL was eventful with movements up and down the log as Bendel Insurance extend their lead at the top of group B to six points, while Doma surpass Rivers United in Group B standings after home win.

The weekend started on Friday at the Samuel Ogbemudia stadium in Benin where Insurance hosted El Kanemi Warriors, with the home side scoring two goals in the space of four second half minutes in the 54th and 58th minutes through Ismael Seriki and Austin Ogunye respectively.

El Kanemi pulled one back through a Hussaini Mohammed spot kick goal eleven (11) minutes later, but the comeback was not achieved after the blast of the full time whistle keeping the away side rooted to bottom of Group A.

In Akure, David Onovo's 23rd minute goal was the difference between Sunshine Stars and Lobi, with the Akure based team maintaining fifth position in Group B with a game in hand, while Lobi remained table toppers.

Niger Tornadoes equal Rivers United on points (23) to claim fourth position after firing three goals past the Warriors of Abia, with Munir Idris bagging a brace minutes before David Okoromi sealed all maximum points with the third goal.

A trip back to the West saw Shooting Stars also fire three goals past their visitors Gombe United at the Lekan Salami Stadium in Ibadan, following goals in both halves of the game through Malomo Taofeeq in the 43rd, Udoh Godwin in the 47th, and Douglas Archhiv in the 66th minute.

In other centers, second-placed Doma United got one better over Bayelsa United with a 2-1 victory, Plateau United defeated Nasarawa via a 36th minute penalty, while Enyimba and Remo Stars shared the spoils in Aba.

The game between Wiki Tourists of Bauchi and Rivers United was postponed due to the Pride of Rivers fulfilling their Continental duties in the CAF Confederation Cup, with a quarterfinal game against Young Africans at hand.

Upcoming fixtures see Akwa United welcome Kwara United to Uyo, while Enugu Rangers will travel to Akwa Ibom to face Dakkada FC on Monday.
