Report Linking Me To Enyimba Not True-Boboye
Our Reporter
Kennedy Boboye has dismissed the online news linking him to Enyimba International of Aba as false, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
No announcement from the Aba Elephants management regarding the future of Finidi George who is still the Head Coach; despite the club finishing 7th on the log with 52points, which saw them miss out in the race for a title or CAF spot.
According to the Assistant Coach of the CHAN Eagles: "The news linking me to Enyimba lacked any iota of truth as I was only in Aba to catch a glimpse of a game and I never had any discussion with anyone or official of the club."
Boboye resigned from his role as Akwa United coach last season after his side continued to struggle, with his last game being the Promise Keeper's home draw against Heartland where they missed two penalty kicks.
Despite winning the NPFL title two seasons ago, the Nigerian legend had an average stat with Akwa United.
He had a 44% win rate from 31 Wins, 36 Draws and 13 Defeats in 70 games (NPFL- 67, CAFCL - 2, Aiteo Cup -1) in charge of the Promise Keepers.
Recall after Boboye's sacked, Jolomi Atune took over as interim coach and lost three straight matches to Plateau Utd 3-0 Akwa Utd, another 3-0 home defeat to Rangers and lost scandalously to Rivers Utd, who pummeled them 4-0.
Akwa United had no choice but to bring on Ayodeji Ayeni from Sunshine Stars, who guided them to a 9th place finish with 52points.
