Reports: Super Eagles could face Portugal in friendly encounter

Super Eagles of Nigeria could slug it out against Portuguese National team in a friendly match later this year, BSNSports.com.ng reports.


Discussion are underway between both federations with a tentative date of November 17th.


The game is aimed at preparing Portugal ahead of its group game against West Africa Nation “Black Stars of Ghana, ahead of Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup.”


A top brass of the NFF revealed that talks have been held and it was mentioned to Peseiro upon his appointment and he is well in tuned with the idea. It’s now left for both parties to accelerate talks and set up possible meetings .


Meanwhile, Super Eagles Coach Jose Peseiro also need the game as the next competitive fixture of the team which will be next year, and games like the proposed friendly against Portugal will help him to know the team better.



However, Super Eagles will use the friendly match if confirmed to prepare for the AFCON 2023 qualifiers.
